Today I'm going to talk about and show pictures from our first look! I have posted about my bridal brunch, getting ready for the wedding and some fun wedding candids already.
Rob and I really went back and forth on whether or not to have a "First Look". We were actually both pretty firmly in the camp of not seeing each other before we were married. And, I vetoed a photographer because I felt like she put too much pressure on us to have a "First Look". During the wedding planning process, I kept looking through blogs and pictures of weddings. I also read so many recaps of couples' first looks. I remember reading one blogger who said their first look was the most special part of the day. It gave them a moment to relax, soak in the moment, and spend time together before all of the craziness started. Plus, they were both very emotional and could let their emotions out together, privately before they had to be in front of everyone.
Little by little, my heart started to change. I didn't know if I could convince Rob, but eventually he started to see the benefits. And, afterwards, I am so excited we did. We were still pretty emotional during the ceremony--and I still felt like a million bucks walking down the aisle. But, I do cherish the moments we had together before the ceremony! Those moments were just us. :)
Here I am getting ready to walk down the aisle to my future husband!
Here is my handsome man! I love the expressions Rob makes--he truly makes me feel like the most important person in his world when he gives me some of these looks!
Best moment of the day. Finally getting to see him!
This picture just cracks me up! We spent so much time checking each other out--and this picture captures it perfectly!
I love that our photographer was able to give us some really amazing pictures of us seeing each other for the first time, but then gave us some space and privacy to talk to each other before the formal pictures started. :)
We also waited to this point to exchange gifts. I love the card Rob wrote to me--and honestly would have been completely satisfied with the beautiful words he wrote! He also gave me a pearl bracelet to wear on our wedding day, which is something I know I will always treasure!
First formal picture. I am pretty sure both our faces are a little puffy from crying, but that's one of the things I love about the picture!
Beautiful! I wanted the traditional going down the aisle seeing each other for the first time wedding, but we did a first look and am SO glad we did! Pretty church!!

SOO pretty! I love your veil!
My friends have done first looks and have really been glad they did! It allows for them to get quicker to the reception after the ceremony and to have some quiet time.
My husband was not changing his mind - he was very traditional about all of it. But I think it may be one of the things I would rethink if I could have a do-over.

Awwww, this is so sweet!! I love the pictures. We didn't do a first look and I don't regret it, but I think every couple needs to decide for themselves! For some people it's perfect, for others it's not! I just LOVE that picture of him starting to turn around...his face is fabulous!!
