If you are visiting my blog from Kelly's, welcome! I decided to participate in the Show Us Your Life topic this week because it's all about our immediate families--from when we grew up! I am so close with my mom and sister and wanted the fun chance to brag on them. :)
I am the oldest, and my sister is four years younger. Nobody ever thinks that--I usually get mistaken for way younger. In fact, when we were going on college visits when I was a senior in high school everyone thought Rachel was the one heading off to college. She was only in the 8th grade! Craziness!
This picture is pretty old--I'd say at least 3 or 4 years and we all look so much different. I love it though! :)
My mom and I are really close. We talk every day and I really look up to her. Mom is such a loving, kind person and really helps so many people out. She never seeks recognition for the things she does, instead really choosing to serve with the heart of a servant. My mom is a nurse and she picked the perfect career path. She loves taking care of people!
This picture is from when I was volunteering in Kenya. My mom and sister came to visit and I took them to a giraffe orphanage. This was such a wonderful day, even though it was a million degrees, because we got to feed the giraffes and watch them run around. The orphanage wasn't crowded at all, so we got to spend as much time there as we wanted!
My sister and I are also really close! We grew up not always getting along and having notorious fights over clothes, makeup, the computer, the phone, just about anything! Rachel has really grown into my best friend and I am SO excited she is my Maid of Honor. I can't imagine anyone else standing beside me when I marry Rob. My sister is a seventh grade math teacher. She does a really good job, especially with a tough age group! She also is organizing a 5k to fundraise for her school! See, I told you she was amazing! :)
I am so thankful for this topic today because I get such a big chance to brag on my family! Looking forward to reading about all of yours! :)
Aren't sisters awesome?? And, my sister is a middle school teacher, too!
