For Easter weekend, we headed to Kentucky to visit my family. Easter is probably my favorite holiday and I have been looking forward to the weekend for such a long time!
Rob and I both had the day off on Good Friday, so our whole family got to sleep in a little! I fed William around 5 AM and then we all fell back asleep until 9:30. That is unheard of around these parts!!
When we finally got moving, Rob made a great breakfast of scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. This is one of my favorite things about weekends--breakfast together! After breakfast, we started getting things together for our trip to KY. Rob had to take our dog to the boarder and I worked on packing the boys' bags. I wish my life was together enough that I could have packed everything up the night before, but honestly I was still working on their laundry!!
We left for KY right around naptime which was perfect. Both boys took great naps while we drove to my mom's which made for an easy trip! I also found a great 90s School Dance playlist on Amazon Music. :)
When we got to KY we spent most of our time at my mom's house and then at my granny's. After a delicious turkey dinner (seriously so good!!) We all went down to visit my granny on Friday evening and the boys had a great time. My granny LOVES babies and William and his cousin Nash are no exception. I loved this picture of them together.
Saturday we were all over the place! My mom and Henry worked in the flower beds outside and also at my granny's. I took William and went with my aunt to the mall for a few hours. I found a super cute pair of tennis shoes for only $20! Rob went golfing with my BIL. Like I said--all over the place. We regrouped for dinner and ordered in my favorite GF pizza. After dinner it was time for baths and bedtime for the littlest boys. The rest of us stayed up and made desserts for Easter Sunday. Rob and I also put together the boys' Easter baskets. I sometimes can't believe I have two babies to make baskets for now!
Sunday morning we all went to church and even got a halfway decent picture of all of us! Henry loved his life so much with the Easter egg hunt. He LOVES chocolate and was really pleased to find he found some eggs with Hershey kisses in them.
After church we went to my granny's for lunch. My mom made an amazing prime rib, complete with twiced baked potatoes, and broccoli casserole. There were GF funfetti cupcakes and all kinds of other delicious food. We had to pack up shortly after lunch to get back to Columbus. The boys were just exhausted and honestly didn't really sleep on the way home. The trip home was a little rough, but William definitely had to go to sleep as soon as we got home! Henry went with Rob down to his parents house to play and have dinner while I put William to bed. This ended up being a good decision because I was able to unpack our car and get laundry started while they were away. When Rob came home, I put Henry to bed while he went to the grocery store. The weekend was so full and busy, but it was a great one :)
