Weekends like this one make me wish there was just one more day to have with my family together. I would've really enjoyed one more day of relaxing before the work week hits!
Friday evening was pretty relaxed at our house. Rob went to the grocery store after work and I picked up the babies. Rob made dinner and we just had a great evening together! I love Friday nights because I'm not worried about getting things ready for the next day and I can lay on the floor and play with the boys without thinking about all of the things I need to do once they're in bed.
Rob and I are slowly but surely working our way through House of Cards from the library. We're about halfway through Season 2. I've seen it before, but Rob is brand new to it. :)
Saturday morning we had family breakfast together which is one of my very favorite things. Henry and I had oatmeal together while Rob made scrambled eggs and William had a fancy oatmeal and banana mixture. I always think the Saturday morning breakfasts are something I will miss when I am older and my babies are grown.
After breakfast, we got dressed and headed to a new Children's Museum in a town near us. I randomly found the museum and am SO thrilled with it. I had been looking for places to have Henry's birthday party and this is exactly what I was envisioning. The museum was basically one enormous play area for little kids. There was a station about dinosaurs, a fire engine, a working crane, puzzles, a veterinarians area--just everything kiddos love. :)
There were so many awesome areas for kids to play and it seemed like it was all of Henry's favorite things! There was a huge train table, legos, a dinosaur exhibit where you could dig for fossils, a fire truck to drive, a dress up/stage area, a veterinarian's area, a grocery store, and the list just goes on. A family membership is pretty reasonable so I definitely see this in our future. :)
Henry has loved his baby brother from the moment he knew about him and it is just the sweetest thing. William is really, really into his brother too and it cracks me up. In William's book, no one is as funny as Henry is. :) I let Henry climb up in William's bed and they both LOVED it. I have thought numerous times about them sharing a room and I think they would both really love it!
Saturday evening we tried out a new Italian restaurant by our house. It was family friendly and a great place to go when we just need to get out of the house. ;) They aren't as gluten-free friendly as my favorite Italian joint, but they were pretty good!
Sunday morning we got up for church and I was so pleased with how well it went with both boys. Sometimes we get ourselves together and William is fussy or something happens where I just can't get into the service. On those Sundays I wonder why we even tried to get out the door! However, this Sunday was perfect. Henry hung out with us for a little while before going back to the nursery and William was so chill. I let him roll around on the floor a little between the rows and then snuggled him up for a bottle. The service was great and it just made for a wonderful morning!
Rob's parents have been in Florida for the past month and they came home on Saturday. Sunday evening we took pizza and met the rest of his family at their house for dinner. Rob's sister made an amazing chocolate cake with chocolate icing and raspberries on top (even GF for me!) and we had the best time together hanging out. William really got into being in a high chair.
I loved hanging out with everyone before we had to head home for bathtime and bedtime. It was the best way to wrap up a great weekend!!
