Life has just absolutely not stopped for at all--and I thought I would be bored/snowed in during January and February! This past weekend was completely filled with lots of fun things, but it definitely made me thankful for the work week when I'd be back to more of a regular schedule. How often do you say that?!
Friday night Rob and I hosted his grandparents over for dinner. We had been looking forward to having them to our house so they could see our new floors and all of the nursery progress. We go to their house at least once a month for dinner, so it was exciting to get a chance to have them over! Rob made an amazing dinner complete with some fancy risotto. I contributed chocolate chip cookies. ;)
After his grandparents left, we hung out for a little bit but knew we needed to get to bed early--Saturday and Sunday were both completely jam packed! Saturday morning we left our house at 9 AM only to return around 1 AM. Craziness. First up on the agenda was our maternity pictures! I kind of dropped the ball on this--which is why we didn't get them done until 35 weeks. However, I loved our photographer and am so so anxious to get our proofs! She said to expect them in two weeks--let's just hope they make it before baby bit does. ;)
When we were finished with the pictures, we jumped back into the car to head to Dayton for my last baby shower. Some of the sweet ladies I have been in Bible Study with wanted to throw me a shower and I was so thrilled to get to see them again! This will probably be my last road trip for awhile--even though it was just under two hours each way. This is so wild to me because I tend to drive quite a bit for my job!
My friend Dianne hosted the shower, which had a "She's Ready to Pop" theme. So cute--and she put so much effort into making the food fit the theme which really cracked me up! She had a spread of food that included blow pops, ring pops, pop rocks, popcorn, etc. My favorite treat has to be the gluten-free chocolate cupcakes with raspberry filling. And yes, they tasted just as delicious as they sound! I was so thrilled to get to see everyone at the shower and so happy I was able to see them before baby!
After the shower, I took a mini-nap on our way back to Columbus. I probably only slept for 30 minutes, but it was amazing. I am so thankful Rob was there to drive me--it is always so nice to have company in the car! We made it back to Columbus just in time to head over to our friend's mom's 60th birthday party. Sadly I didn't take any pictures--what kind of blogger am I?! I twisted my ankle on the way to the party and was kind of grouchy about that for quite a bit of the time we were there. I ended up having such a good time though--and Rob and I stayed out so much later than we planned! When we made it home around 1 AM, I was definitely one tired momma. I was SO happy to get in my pajamas. :)
Sunday morning I miraculous made it up in time for church and lunch with some friends and my cousin. I can't believe Rob and I made it out the door on time...I definitely thought we'd be bums and sleep through everything. ;) After church and a fun lunch, we decided to tackle our errands list. First up was Target for some new pillows for Rob and some new hampers for our laundry room. I LOVED my old three part hamper, but it would pretty much fall apart every time I tried to add more clothes to it. I do lots of laundry already, so I knew this had to be fixed ASAP. We also went to the grocery for the week--and let me tell you grocery shopping with someone else is infinitely more exciting than it is all on your own! I seriously dread grocery shopping normally, but it was almost fun with Rob. ;) We didn't get home until almost 5 PM, which was so exhausting. We had plans for a Super Bowl get together, but ended up making some snacks for ourselves and relaxing on the couch. I was in bed by 10 so that I wasn't too exhausted to start out my Monday!
Also--this wasn't technically part of my weekend, but I wanted to include it anyways. Last week I had a little bit of a meltdown about not figuring out the gender of the baby. This was all centered around my hormones not being ok with baby having something blue or pink to wear at the hospital--or on the way home from the hospital. Obviously, really important. ;) Rob definitely got husband of the year when he agreed to go with me to Babies R Us to buy a few pink and blue ensembles for baby bit to wear! Here is my favorite pink and favorite blue outfit. I know we've saved a lot of money not finding out the gender--but my friends that is all about to change. ;)

Wow you did have a busy busy weekend! Your shower was super cute! And I'm glad that you were able to get some outfits for a boy or girl. You are almost there and will find out very soon! Can't wait!
